Scope and Contents

Part 1 of this collection contains materials reflecting the operation of the Marketing and Communications Department at Oakland Community College.

Series 1: Administrative Materials, 1988-2015. Series 1 includes documentation of the College's major anniversaries, reports, correspondence, various marketing campaigns and publications, and other materials related to the activities of the Marketing and Communications Department.

Series 2: Press Releases, 1973-2013. Series 2 consists of Oakland Community College press releases, public service announcements, and advertising copy.
Part 2 of this collection contains Marketing and Communication Awards.

Abstract

The function of the Oakland Community College Department of Marketing & Communications is to promote and market the College, assist in advancing student recruitment and enrollment, manage media relations, and provide College-wide communications. This includes but is not limited to: digital marketing and engagement, the management and development of the College’s image and branding, the provision of expert marketing, graphic design, writing, editing, and support services to the College’s community, and holds the primary responsibility for all print and web publications.

This collection consists of materials related to the daily function of the department, reports, correspondence, event promotion and planning, press releases, public service announcements, and advertising copy.

Arrangement

Part 1- This Collection has been arranged in 2 series – Series 1 (Box 1) and Series 2 (Boxes 2-7). Folders are arranged alphabetically by subject or type.

Immediate Source of Acquisition

This collection was donated to the Archives by Cassandra Palacios, Marketing Administrative Assistant, and Daniel Jenuwine, Director of Marketing on 2019-06-21.
Accrual in 2021 from Michele Kersten-Hart, Manager of Multi-Media and Web Services Marketing and Communications.
